      The FBFC ‘silly song’
(To be sung to the tune of This is the army Mr. Jones by Irving Berlin given here below)

We are the FBF group
We love to slurp carrot soup
We spin around with hoola hoops
We are the FBF group

There were 3 birdies on a tree
The first was coppersmith barbet-ee
It has a naughty habit of gulping guava
Never goes near molten lava

The second was the greenest parrot
Its beak was as red as Delhi carrot
We hide and we watch it preen its feathers
Swinging when its hot and cool weather

The third was the red–vented bulbul
With a spotted tummy never so full
Visits every morn and we say wow!
It whistles a call I don’t know how!

Hum utathe hai rang birange pankh*
(*We pick up colourful feathers)
Must not treat it like silly junk
We click and hide and sniff
When bipeds come we are stiff
 We are the FBF group

Bulbul, hoopoe, peacock have lovely crests
Cardinal and sparrow have puffed up breasts
We sing, skip and trek on holidays
We spy on camouflaged eggs on the highways
mm, mm, mmmm, ....

Thank you very much viewers for looking at our blog. We are waiting to read your comments. The very exciting news of this happy day is this: we have touched 1000 page-views in two months. Have a great time spotting the camouflaged creatures, sent by our biggest contributor Uncle Tom Qualey from Texas, USA. Have fun....

FBFC PRESENTS 'THE UNITED COLOURS OF TITAN TOWNSHIP'

SUMMER HOLS:2014 PART-III

In a quiet serene corner of Cathedral road in Chennai lies the cool campus of Stella Maris College. The last lap of my summer hols was a visit to my most lovable grand-aunt Helena athai (Dr. Sr. Helen Vincent, fmm). As usual I was drowned with exciting gifts and interesting historical information of the campus.

The towering residence of late Gen D’Monte kept me spell bound. I’ve always been lucky to stay in this mansion which is now partly a guest-house. The magnificent peach and white building was built in 1857 by this Portuguese General. He donated this property to Catholic nuns with the wish that it be used for a noble cause. And today, after 157 years it stands tall and strong without even a hair-line crack or a damaged speck on its walls or its Burmese-teak spiral staircase and royal furniture. Three cheers to the FMM sisters for keeping the mansion and the sprawling campus like a paradise on earth. Enjoy the pics of this famous college campus:
